Dr. Ameeta Kumar is a Northern Virginia local and endocrinologist specializing in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. She developed a deep connection to the region and a strong commitment to serving its residents in the community she has called home for most of her life.
Dr. Kumar earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine residency at INOVA Fairfax Hospital with a focus on comprehensive, patient-centered care. She subsequently completed her endocrinology fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she gained extensive experience managing a wide spectrum of endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, metabolic conditions, and hormonal imbalances.
Dr. Kumar joins District Endocrine with a deep commitment to delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care to the community, combining evidence-based medicine with a compassionate approach to lifelong chronic disease management.
